An Act To Allow a Person To Request a Pardon from the Governor for the Purpose of Restoring Gun Rights
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 15 MRSA §2168 is enacted to read:
§ 2168. Restoration of right to possess a firearm
A person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm under section 393 may request a pardon from the Governor for the purpose of restoring the person's ability to possess a firearm.
SUMMARY
This bill allows a person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a criminal conviction or other judicial reason to request a pardon from the Governor for the purpose of restoring the person's ability to possess a firearm.
