An Act To Protect Farm Animals from Noise from the Discharge of Fireworks and Explosives
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 8 MRSA §223-A, sub-§8, ¶C is enacted to read:
C. A person may not use consumer fireworks within 1,000 feet of any pasture or field that contains livestock. For purposes of this paragraph, "livestock" has the same meaning as in Title 17, section 1011, subsection 18-A.
Sec. 2. 25 MRSA §2478 is enacted to read:
§ 2478. Use of explosives near livestock
A person may not use explosives, either loose or contained in a tube or other enclosure, within 1,000 feet of any pasture or field that contains livestock. For purposes of this section, "livestock" has the same meaning as in Title 17, section 1011, subsection 18-A.
