This legislation
requires the Department of Transportation to conduct a study to determine the
feasibility and cost of improving the rail line from the City of Brewer to
the Town of Bucksport. The department
estimates that it would require a Highway Fund allocation of $40,000 in
fiscal year 2013-14 for engineering costs and costs related to public comment
sessions. Since the rail line is owned
by PanAm, any study would need to be coordinated with them and performed
according to their guidelines, which could affect the cost. |
