This legislation
eliminates the Bureau of Building Codes and Standards program within the
Department of Public Safety and moves its authority and responsibilities to a
new division created in the Office of the State Fire Marshal within the
Department of Public Safety. The bill
includes an Other Special Revenue Funds deallocation of $89,895 in fiscal
year 2012-13 to the Department of Public Safety as a result of the
elimination of the Bureau Director position.
One half of the cost of a Public Safety License Inspector Supervisor
position is transferred from the Office of the State Fire Marshal to the new
division. The bill also reduces the
transfer of the costs of a Planner II position from the State Planning office
to the Bureau by $36,518 in fiscal year 2012-13. |
