|
This legislation
adds the Aroostook Band of Micmacs to the tribal exemption for certain
commercial harvesting licenses and allows the band to issue those licenses,
reduces the Zone 1 sea urchin license fees when the season is no longer than
10 days, repeals the enhanced retail seafood license and establishes the
enhanced retail certificate. These
changes will result in minor decreases in both General Fund and Other Special
Revenue Funds revenue not requiring any change to the budget. |

The legislation
also eliminates a number of the Department of Marine Resources' reports to
the legislature resulting in minor General Fund savings in personnel time not
requiring any change to the budget. |
