Resolve, Directing the Department of Marine Resources To Examine the Role of 3rd-party Laboratories in Conducting Testing for the Department
Sec. 1. Role of 3rd-party laboratories conducting testing. Resolved: That the Department of Marine Resources shall examine the role of 3rd-party laboratories in conducting testing for the department. The Commissioner of Marine Resources or the commissioner's designee shall analyze the findings to determine how the department may save money, create jobs, promote competition, use less testing and share data to save research time; and be it further
Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That the Department of Marine Resources shall report its findings under section 1 to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over marine resources matters by January 15, 2013 together with any recommendations regarding the role of 3rd-party laboratories in conducting testing for the department. The committee may submit a bill based on the findings and recommendations of the report submitted by the Department of Marine Resources to the First Regular Session of the 126th Legislature.
