Amend the amendment in section 1 in §205 in the first indented paragraph in the first line (page 1, line 15 in amendment) by striking out the following: " The" and inserting the following: ' Using data that are readily available to and compiled by the department, the'
Amend the amendment by striking out all of section 3 and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 3. Compilation of data. Nothing in this Act may be construed to require the Department of Education to report on data at a level of detail that does not exist on the effective date of this Act. The Department of Education shall provide the monthly report required pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 20-A, section 205 within its existing resources.’
Amend the amendment by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment specifies that, in carrying out the reporting requirement required by this legislation, the Department of Education is to use data that are readily available to, and compiled by, that department.
