Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 in paragraph A in subparagraph (2) in division (d) in the last line (page 2, line 5 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " and"
Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 in paragraph A in subparagraph (2) by inserting after division (e) the following:
(f) Procedures for operator training to ensure operators have been trained in the operation and maintenance of equipment, including, but not limited to, engineering controls to mitigate mercury releases and personal protective equipment use; and
(g) Procedures to address emergency situations, including, but not limited to, procedures to address mercury hazards, waste handling and equipment failure;

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 in paragraph A by inserting after subparagraph (6) the following:
(7) Maintain testing and monitoring data.

This amendment adds to the requirements in the bill for the use of crushing devices. Under this amendment, an operating manual must include procedures for operator training and procedures to address emergency situations. The amendment requires owners of crushing devices to maintain testing and monitoring data. The amendment also provides that crushing devices may be operated only in a closed system, in such a manner that any emission of mercury does not exceed 0.3 micrograms per cubic meter, and must be operated in a secure, ventilated area not accessible to the general public.
