‘Resolve, To Review Hydropower Licensing and Relicensing and Dam Removal’
Amend the bill by striking out everything after the title and before the summary and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 1. Review; findings. Resolved: That the Governor's Office of Energy Independence and Security, the Maine Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Environmental Protection, referred to in this resolve as "the agencies," shall review and update reports prepared by the Executive Department, State Planning Office relating to hydropower licensing and relicensing activities and dam removal policies in the State. By January 5, 2013, the agencies shall submit their findings and updated reports to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over environment and natural resources matters.’

This amendment, which replaces the bill with a resolve, is the minority report of the committee. The amendment directs the Governor's Office of Energy Independence and Security, the Maine Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Environmental Protection to review and update reports of the Executive Department, State Planning Office relating to hydropower licensing and relicensing activities and dam removal policies in the State.
