An Act Regarding Retired Law Enforcement Officers' Retirement Credentials
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 25 MRSA §2806-A is enacted to read:
§ 2806-A. Suspension, revocation of retired law enforcement officers' retirement credentials
1. Suspension, revocation of credentials. A law enforcement agency may suspend or revoke at any time any credential issued by the agency to an officer who has retired from the agency if the retired officer engages in conduct or is convicted of a crime that would have resulted in the revocation or suspension of the retired officer's law enforcement certification if the officer were not retired.

The bill permits a law enforcement agency to suspend or revoke any credential of an officer who has retired from that agency if the officer engages in conduct or is convicted of a crime that would have resulted in decertification of the officer if the officer was not retired.
