Resolve, To Create a Working Group To Study the Subdivision Laws
Sec. 1. Working group to study subdivision laws. Resolved: That the Department of Public Safety, referred to in this resolve as "the department," shall convene a working group to study land use planning and regulatory issues pertaining to the development of subdivisions and the subdivision laws; and be it further
Sec. 2. Participants. Resolved: That the department shall invite the following persons to participate in the working group under section 1:
1. The Commissioner of Environmental Protection;
2. One person from the Governor's office selected by the Governor;
3. One citizen selected by the Senate chair of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government;
4. Two lawyers selected by the Senate chair of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government;
5. One surveyor selected by the Senate chair of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government;
6. One civil engineer selected by the Senate chair of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government;
7. Two lawyers whose practice concerns land use laws selected by the Senate chair of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government;
8. One person selected by an organization that represents home builders;
9. One person selected by an organization that represents commercial real estate builders; and
10. One Legislator selected by the Senate chair of the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government; and be it further
Sec. 3. Report. Resolved: That, by January 30, 2012, the department shall report to the Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government with its recommendations for changes to the subdivision laws.
