An Act To Require That a Student Satisfactorily Complete a Course in Civics and Government To Receive a High School Diploma
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §4722, sub-§2, ¶B, as enacted by PL 1983, c. 859, Pt. C, §§5 and 7, is amended to read:
B. Social studies and history, including American history and government , including at least one course in civics and government--2 years;
SUMMARY
This bill requires a secondary student to satisfactorily complete at least one course in civics and government to receive a high school diploma.
