An Act To Exempt from Subdivision Requirements Land Sold by 65 Years of Age or Older Persons
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §4401, sub-§4, ¶J is enacted to read:
J. A division accomplished by sale by a person 65 years of age or older does not create a lot or lots under this subsection if:
(1) The seller has not accomplished a division under this paragraph within the last 12 months; and
(2) The division is in compliance with local ordinances.

This bill permits a landowner who is 65 years of age or older to sell a tract or parcel of land once a year without creating a lot for subdivision purposes as long as the division of land is in compliance with local ordinances.
