‘Sec. RRRR-1. 22 MRSA §3174-G, sub-§4 is enacted to read:
No later than 30 days following receipt of the waiver, the commissioner shall submit a report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over health and human services matters and the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over appropriations and financial affairs that includes suggested legislation implementing the reduced levels of income eligibility. The joint standing committees may report out legislation regarding the income eligibility levels for the delivery of federally approved Medicaid services.
Sec. RRRR-2. Contingent effective date. That section of this Part that enacts the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 22, section 3174-G, subsection 4 takes effect only if the Commissioner of Health and Human Services receives a waiver from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from the maintenance of effort requirement under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to adjust the income eligibility levels for the persons specified in Title 22, section 3174-G, subsection 1. The commissioner shall transmit a copy of the waiver to the Secretary of the Senate, the Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Revisor of Statutes.’
