Resolve, To Improve the Training and Retention of Maine's Professional Direct Care and Personal Supports Workforce
Sec. 1. Information about career development and training provided to professional direct care and personal supports workers. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall work with the Department of Labor to develop materials and provide information about professional and career development, training and related credentialing and certification to all professional direct care and personal supports workers. The Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Labor shall provide materials to employers, trainers and consumers to be made available to workers at no cost to the State. This information must be developed to ensure that all workers, including but not limited to certified nurse aides, personal support specialists, direct support professionals and certified residential medication aides, are afforded the opportunity to maintain and improve their skills in order that overall quality of care may be improved.
