An Act To Limit the Placement of Motor Vehicle Inspection Stickers in Automobiles
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §1758, sub-§1, as enacted by PL 1993, c. 683, Pt. A, §2 and affected by Pt. B, §5, is amended to read:
1. Windshield placement. If a motor vehicle meets the inspection standard, an official inspection sticker must be placed in the lower left-hand corner of the windshield or in the center of the windshield in back of the rearview mirror.
Sec. 2. 29-A MRSA §1766, sub-§7 is enacted to read:
7. Size of inspection sticker. An inspection sticker under this section must be at least 3 inches in height and at least 4 inches in width.

This bill requires that a motor vehicle inspection sticker be placed only in the lower left-hand corner of the vehicle's windshield and that the sticker must be at least 3 inches high and 4 inches wide.
