Amend the bill in section 1 in subsection 1 in the last paragraph in the last 4 lines (page 1, lines 28 to 31 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "State , to the degree possible. The council may invite to carry out the duties of the council other participants on an ad hoc basis, including representatives of private or governmental organizations or individuals with expertise or interest in marine, education, labor or health matters." and inserting the following: 'State. The council may invite to carry out the duties of the council other participants on an ad hoc basis, including representatives of private or governmental organizations or individuals with expertise or interest in marine, education, labor or health matters.'
summary
This amendment makes the following changes to the bill:
1. It removes the added qualification that the Commercial Fishing Safety Council must reflect a geographic distribution along the coast of the State in its membership only to the degree possible; and
2. It preserves language in current law that the council may invite other participants on an ad hoc basis to carry out the duties of the council.
