Resolve, Directing the Bureau of Insurance To Study Legislators' Health Insurance Benefits Compared to the Health Insurance Benefits of Other Part-time and Seasonal Workers in the State
Sec. 1. Bureau of Insurance to study the health insurance benefits of Legislators. Resolved: That the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Insurance shall study the health insurance benefits provided to Legislators with respect to the premium paid by employer and employee, the cost by family composition, cost-sharing and type and level of benefits and prepare a side-by-side comparison of insurance provided to other part-time and seasonal workers in the State with respect to each of the categories. The bureau shall submit a report of the results of the study to the Joint Standing Committee on Insurance and Financial Services by December 1, 2011.

This bill directs the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Insurance to study the health insurance premium, cost, cost-sharing and benefits provided to Legislators and compare them to the premium, cost, cost-sharing and benefits available to other part-time and seasonal workers in the State, and to provide a report to the Joint Standing Committee on Insurance and Financial Services by December 1, 2011.
