Amend the bill in the emergency preamble by striking out all of the 2nd paragraph (page 1, lines 3 to 5 in L.D.) and inserting the following:
Whereas, ‘this legislation needs to take effect before the expiration of the 90-day period in order to facilitate the work of the agency responsible for licensing health and social services agencies and facilities in the investigation of suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation in licensed, certified and registered facilities and programs that care for children and adults; and’
Amend the bill by striking out all of section 1 (page 1, lines 11 to 14 in L.D.) and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 1. 16 MRSA §614, sub-§3, ¶B-1 is enacted to read:
B-1. The division of licensing and regulatory services within the Department of Health and Human Services for use in the investigation of suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation in licensed, certified and registered facilities and programs that provide care to children and adults;’
