Amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting the following:
‘Resolve, To Direct the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife To Pursue Snowmobile Reciprocity with Canada’
Amend the bill by striking out everything after the title and before the summary and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 1. Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to work with Canadian officials to allow reciprocity for snowmobiles. Resolved: That the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife shall work with the appropriate officials in Canada to allow snowmobiles that are registered in this State to be operated in Canada without being registered in Canada and allow snowmobiles registered in Canada to be operated in this State without being registered in this State; and be it further
Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife shall report on the commissioner's efforts to establish reciprocity with Canada regarding snowmobiles pursuant to section 1 to the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife by January 5, 2012. The committee may submit a bill related to the report to the Second Regular Session of the 125th Legislature.’
SUMMARY
This amendment replaces the bill and is the minority report of the committee. It directs the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to work with Canadian authorities to establish reciprocity for the operation of snowmobiles and to report to the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife by January 5, 2012.
