Resolve, To Direct the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife To Add One or More Moose Hunting Seasons in Wildlife Management District No. 8
Emergency preamble. Whereas, acts and resolves of the Legislature do not become effective until 90 days after adjournment unless enacted as emergencies; and
Whereas, this legislation requires the amending of rules for moose hunting in time for the next hunting season; and
Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and require the following legislation as immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, therefore, be it
Sec. 1. Expanded moose hunting season. Resolved: That the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife shall amend the rules for Wildlife Management District No. 8 to add one or more 6-day moose hunting seasons for the district in addition to the one 6-day season already established by rule; and be it further
Sec. 2. Adopted rules. Resolved: That rules adopted pursuant to this resolve are routine technical rules as defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the preamble, this legislation takes effect when approved.
