The
Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will require an allocation of $939,640 in
fiscal year 2010-11 to the Public Utilities Commission Regulatory Fund for
one permanent Management Analyst II position to provide quality assurance
review to the Emergency Services Communication Bureau, for training of Public
Safety Answering Point staff on dispatch standards and protocols and related
continuing education and for providing printed copies of those standards or
access to them in electronic format.
Removing the requirement that the PUC set rates for answering point
and dispatch services may result in savings to the Public Utilities
Commission Regulatory Fund that are not expected to be significant. |
|
Any additional
costs to the Department of Public Safety associated with examining
methodologies for recovering costs and establishing fees for Public Safety
Answering Point services and dispatch services can be absorbed within
existing budgeted resources. |
