Fiscal Detail and Notes
This legislation creates the Pelagic and Anadromous Fisheries Fund which is funded through surcharges on the newly created commercial pelagic and anadromous fishing license. These surcharges are expected to increase Other Special Revenue Funds to the Department of Marine Resources by $38,800 in fiscal year 2010-11. The bill includes an allocation to the Department of Marine Resources of $38,800 in fiscal year 2010-11 and $77,600 annually thereafter.
Anyone purchasing this new license would already be purchasing the existing commercial fishing license and this new license would replace the existing one for those individuals. The resident operator and resident operator and all crew members license fee under this new license is the same as the existing commercial fishing license. The non-resident operator and all crew members license fee is slightly higher than the existing commercial license fee, resulting in a minor increase in General Fund revenues not requiring any change to budgeted amounts. |
