Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill will increase costs to local school administrative units and other public and private employers who currently do not 1) provide the number of hours of paid sick leave required by this legislation; 2) allow employees to utilize paid sick leave for the uses contained in this bill; or 3) provide that employees may use paid sick leave due to the illness of a "family member" as defined in this legislation. Increased costs to local school administrative units will increase the total future cost of funding K-12 education as well as the level of General Fund appropriations required to fund the State's share beginning in fiscal year 2011-12.
Additional costs to the Department of Labor associated with rulemaking can be absorbed utilizing existing budgeted resources. |
