The State
Planning Office (SPO) will require funding for a half-time Planner II
position and related costs to educate businesses regarding the usefulness of
broadband technology for on-line business reporting, tax filings and national
and global sales opportunities. It is
assumed that the position will commence on October 1, 2010. Additional costs to the Department of
Economic and Community Development and the University of Maine System to
educate citizens and small businesses on the advantages of broadband access
can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
