Additional
General Fund revenue of $20,000 is estimated from issuance of wine direct
shipper licenses. This assumes 200
licenses issued at $100 each. Maine
Revenue Services indicates that a small amount of sales tax may not be
collected due to the inability to require collection and remittance of sales
tax from some licensees. Additional
costs to the Department of Public Safety associated with reviewing reports
from the direct shippers can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
