It
is assumed that this new ticket would be a $1 ticket. It is also assumed that 100% of sales
related to this ticket would come from people who are already playing the
lottery and switch from another ticket to this ticket. Based upon previous experience with
dedicated lottery tickets, it is estimated that the amount transferred to the
Native American Boys and Girls Club Fund would be $337,500 in fiscal year
2009-10 and $810,000 beginning in fiscal year 2010-11. This transfer would consist of $5,400 in
fiscal year 2009-10 and $12,960 beginning in fiscal year 2010-11 from the
Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund, an Other Special Revenue Fund, and $332,100 in
fiscal year 2009-10 and $797,040 beginning in fiscal year 2010-11 from the
General Fund. The distribution of
revenue loss to Other Special Revenue Funds and General Fund is based upon
the ratio of total lottery sales. This
bill includes an Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of $337,500 in fiscal
year 2009-10 and $810,000 in fiscal year 2010-11 for the Native American Boys
and Girls Club Fund. |
