Additional costs
to the Department of Education associated with the rulemaking process can be
absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
The Governor's Recommended Budget for the 2010-2011 Biennium includes
a deappropriation of approximately $1.0 million in both fiscal year 2009-10
and fiscal year 2010-11 to recognize the savings anticipated to be achieved
by the State adopting the New England Comprehensive Assessment Program
(NECAP) assessment expectations in reading and mathematics so that it may
join with the other states in NECAP in a common interstate assessment
agreement and achieve cost savings by sharing the costs among the other
states. |
