This bill
requires the Department of Conservation to acquire a sufficient right-of-way
using eminent domain if necessary. The
department will need to identify suitable property, engage an appraiser and
determine the value of the property. While the costs associated with the bill
can not be determined at this time, the funding source will be through the
Land for Maine's Future Fund and will have no impact on the General
Fund. Additional costs to the
Department of Conservation associated with this purchase can be absorbed
within existing budgeted resources. |
