This amendment
requires non-profits that do not need to be licensed to submit a $30
registration fee for each event.
Current license fees for games of chance are $15 per week, $60 per
month, or $700 per calendar year. It
is possible that many of these non-profit organizations will determine that
it is more advantageous to pay the licensing fee as opposed to the per event
registration fee, thus reducing the loss of revenue included in the Committee
amendment. It is estimated that there
will still be certain non-profits that will benefit financially by not having
to be licensed. |
|
It is difficult to
predict what each non-profit that is below $15,000 in gross revenue per
calendar year may decide is most advantageous. It is believed that the bill, as amended,
would result in a loss of Other Special Revenue Funds revenue. This loss has been estimated to be $30,000
in fiscal year 2009-10 and $40,000 in fiscal year 2010-11. |
