This bill
requires the State Planning Office (SPO) and the Department of Agriculture to
study the beverage container laws of existing municipal recycling programs by
hiring a consultant with expertise in this area. The one-time cost of the consultant is
estimated to be $250,000 and the funding is to be raised by private, outside
sources. The additional costs to the SPO and the Department of Agriculture
associated with the study can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
