This bill requires
all municipalities with greater than 2,000 residents to adopt the Maine
Uniform Building and Energy Code by July 1, 2012. The State Planning Office
shall contact the municipalities with greater than 2,000 residents to verify
which building code edition is currently being enforced and will publish a
list of this information by July 1, 2010.
Costs to produce this information may include a survey, phone contact,
data entry, analysis, printing and other costs. The bill provides for a
staggered effective date for compliance.
However, all municipalities
must comply by January 1, 2012. |
