|
The Office of
Information Services has identified a need for additional General Fund
appropriations of $606,213 in fiscal 2009-10 and $661,855 in fiscal year
2010-11 to develop the capacity to provide access to public records in
electronic format. These amounts
include funds for one Senior Technical Support Specialist position, one
Systems Analyst position and related All Other costs. These amounts also include $325,000 each
year for Capital Expenditure purchases to significantly increase data storage
and to acquire document management systems. |
|
This legislation
may also result in costs to the Department of Education associated with the
additional staff time that may be needed to prepare or modify computer
programs and spreadsheets to provide the data and calculations used to
determine the total cost of funding K-12 public education and how the State's
share of that cost flows to local school administrative units. The total cost to the Department and the
ability of the Department to absorb those costs within existing resources
without impacting other programs and services can not be determined at this
time. |
