This
bill expands the definition of electronic recyclables to include desktop
printers, video games consoles and digital picture frames. It repeals a current provision that
electronic manufacturers submit a recycling plan, now requiring them to
provide an annual registration stating the brands, quantities and other data
of items sold in the state. This will
reduce the regulatory burden for the manufacturer while still providing DEP
necessary information to effectively administer the recycling law. Administrative duties associated with these
changes can be absorbed within DEP's current budgeted resources. |
