If the number or size of the referendum questions requires production and delivery of a second ballot, an additional appropriation of $107,250 may be required.

If approved by the voters, the reduction in the number of legislators will result in savings from legislative salaries and expenses as esitmated below:
2010-11 | 2011-12 | 2012-13 | 2013-14 | 2014-15

Apportionment Timing | $485,000 | ($485,000)
Total Estimated Cost (Savings) | $485,000 | $0 | ($2,127,479) | ($1,414,064) | ($1,759,776)
The Legislature would require an additional appropriation in fiscal year 2010-11 to fund the costs of the apportionment of the legislative districts. The normal timing of the apportionment costs is for them to be incurred in fiscal year 2012-13. |
