and Notes |

This
bill continues a one time registration fee of $50 for generators of
biomedical waste. It eliminates the
continuing annual fee of $25 from medical facilities that produce less than
10 pounds of biomedical waste each month, reducing Other Special Revenue
Funds revenue. Biomedical waste
produced from annual influenza or mass immunizations for a pandemic are not
considered in the calculation of the 10 pounds per month. The bill will
require an allocation to the Department of Environmental Protection of $5,000
in FY 10 for communication to the regulated stakeholders about these changes
through various methods, including workshops, legal ads, and mailings. |
