Resolve, To Allow for the Proper Disposal of Medical Supplies

Sec. 1. Medical supplies program established. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall develop a program by rule to allow consumers to safely dispose of medical supplies, including, but not limited to, syringes and diabetic test supplies. The department shall consult with the Department of Environmental Protection and may consult with other states and professionals to determine the most efficient and cost-effective program. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

SUMMARY

This resolve directs the Department of Health and Human Services to establish by rule a program to allow consumers to safely dispose of medical supplies, including, but not limited to, syringes and diabetic test supplies.
