Amend the bill in section 1 in the last line (page 1, line 14 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: "sewer" the following: 'and water'
Amend the bill in section 5 in the last line (page 1, line 33 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "Town of Lincolnville" and inserting the following: 'district'
Amend the bill by striking out all of section 6 (page 1, lines 34 to 36 in L.D.) and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 6. First board. The first board is appointed by the municipal officers of the Town of Lincolnville. The terms of the first board are governed by the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 35A, section 6410, subsection 4.’
Amend the bill by striking out all of section 7 (page 1, lines 37 and 38 in L.D.) and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 7. Terms of trustees; vacancies. After the appointment of the first board of trustees of the district, trustees are elected to 3-year terms in accordance with the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 35A, section 6410. Vacancies are filled in accordance with Title 35A, section 6410.’
SUMMARY
This amendment makes certain technical changes to the bill to clarify that the Lincolnville Sewer District's purposes include providing water service in addition to sewer services, that the trustees of the new district have staggered terms as specified in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 35A, section 6410 and that after the first board is appointed by the municipal officers of the Town of Lincolnville trustees are elected and vacancies filled in accordance with the Title 35A, section 6410.
This amendment also provides that the trustees must be residents and voters of the district.
