Resolve, To Ensure the Health of Maine Children by Requiring a Certain Vaccination
Sec. 1. Meningococcal meningitis; vaccination required. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services, Maine Center for Disease Control shall amend its rules, pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 20-A, section 6359, subsection 2, governing immunizations required for school children to require the administration of an adequate dosage of an immunizing agent against meningococcal meningitis for students who are 11 years of age or older, beginning with the 2010-2011 school year. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
SUMMARY
This resolve requires the Department of Health and Human Services, Maine Center for Disease Control to amend its rules governing immunizations of school children to require vaccinations against meningococcal meningitis for students who are 11 years of age or older, beginning with the 2010-2011 school year.
