Amend the amendment by inserting after section 1 the following:
‘Sec. 2. Cost analysis; report. The Workers' Compensation Board, within existing resources, shall perform a cost analysis of the impact on employers of this Act and report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over labor matters by December 15, 2013. The joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over labor matters may submit legislation to the Second Regular Session of the 126th Legislature based on the findings of the report.’

This amendment requires the Workers' Compensation Board to do a cost analysis of the impact on employers of allowing workers' compensation benefits for firefighters who contract cancer and report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over labor matters. The joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over labor matters may submit legislation to the Second Regular Session of the 126th Legislature based on this report.
