Amend the amendment in section 2 by striking out all of subsection 1 (page 1, lines 33 and 34 and page 2, lines 1 to 3 in amendment) and inserting the following:
‘1. Two members of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate. The appointments must include members from each of the 2 parties holding the largest number of seats in the Legislature;’
Amend the amendment in section 2 by striking out all of subsection 2 (page 2, lines 4 to 8 in amendment) and inserting the following:
‘2. Three members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House. The appointments must include members from each of the 2 parties holding the largest number of seats in the Legislature;’
Amend the amendment in section 7 by striking out all of the last sentence (page 3, lines 1 to 3 in amendment)
SUMMARY
This amendment removes language specifying the joint standing committees from which members of the Commission to Study the Rule-making Process under the Maine Administrative Procedure Act must be appointed and removes authority of the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over state and local government matters to submit a bill to the 125th Legislature.
