An Act To Display the Homeland Security Advisory System at Public Transportation Facilities
Sec. 1. 37-B MRSA §704, as amended by PL 2007, c. 3, §1 and c. 167, §11, is further amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read:
The director shall identify or prepare informational materials, which must be posted at a publicly accessible location in all public transportation facilities, to inform the public about the federal Homeland Security Advisory System and the meanings of that system's color-coded threat conditions. For the purposes of this paragraph, "public transportation facilities" means passenger embarkation and debarkation areas for public intercity conveyance of at least 10 passengers, including, but not limited to, air terminals, ferry or other water transportation terminals, rail terminals and other land transportation terminals.
SUMMARY
This bill requires the posting of information about the federal Homeland Security Advisory System and its color-coded threat conditions in publicly accessible locations in public transportation facilities.
