Amend the amendment by inserting after Part SSSS the following:

PART TTTT

Sec. TTTT-1. 20-A MRSA §15696, sub-§2  is enacted to read:

2 Exception.   The adjustments required by subsection 1 may not be made with regard to a school administrative unit that is nonconforming because the school administrative unit would lose state subsidy as a result of its reorganization under chapter 103-A or if its reorganization failed because one of the school administrative units participating in the reorganization process would lose state subsidy as a result of reorganization or because the reorganization plan would not have provided any greater educational benefit to students than what is provided to students enrolled in the schools currently operated by the school administrative units participating in the reorganization process.

Amend the amendment by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment provides an exemption from the penalties established for nonconforming school administrative units under the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 20-A, section 15696 because the school administrative unit would lose state subsidy as a result of the reorganization plan or if the reorganization failed to be approved by voters because one of the school administrative units participating in the reorganization process would lose state subsidy as a result of reorganization or because the reorganization plan would not have provided any greater educational benefit to students enrolled in one of the school administrative units participating in the reorganization process.
