This amendment, which is the majority report of the committee, removes the provision of the bill that a variance may be granted for the construction of a place of storage and parking for a noncommercial vehicle only if the structure is attached to a dwelling owned by a person with a permanent disability by a foundation and has load-bearing walls. This allows the municipality maximum flexibility when granting a variance for a person with a permanent disability to construct a place of storage and parking for a vehicle owned by that person. The structure must be no larger than 2 times the length and width of the vehicle, rather than 1 1/2 times as in the bill.
