An Act To Increase the Penalty for Keeping a Dangerous Dog That Harms a Domesticated Animal
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 7 MRSA §3952, sub-§1, ¶B, as amended by PL 1997, c. 690, §35, is further amended to read:
B. Order the dog to be euthanatized euthanized if it has killed, maimed or inflicted serious bodily injury upon a person or a domesticated animal or has a history of a prior assault.

This bill allows a court to order that a dangerous dog be euthanized if that dog has killed, maimed or inflicted serious bodily injury upon a domesticated animal.
