An Act To Restrict the Size of Political Signs on Vehicles
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 23 MRSA §1913-A, sub-§1, ¶E-1 is enacted to read:
E-1. A sign bearing a political message may be erected on a nonmoving vehicle at any time between 6 weeks before and one week after an election, primary or referendum. Such a sign is limited in size to a maximum of 25 square feet. A sign may be erected on a privately owned moving vehicle at any time between 6 weeks before and one week after an election, primary or referendum. Such a sign is limited in size to a maximum of 25 square feet except that, in the case of a parade or political event where the sign is erected on a moving vehicle for less than 24 hours, the sign may exceed the maximum of 25 square feet.

This bill restricts the size of political signs on privately owned moving vehicles and on nonmoving vehicles to a maximum of 25 square feet between 6 weeks prior to and one week after an election, primary or referendum.
