Amend the resolution by striking out all of subsection 6 (page 1, lines 5 to 10 in L.D.) and inserting the following:
. 6. Limit on property tax increases. Notwithstanding the other provisions of this section, beginning with property taxes based on the status of property on April 1, 2011, the total annual property tax assessed by a municipality may not exceed the tax assessed for the previous year by more than the change for the year in a standard measure of consumer price inflation. The Legislature may enact legislation to implement this subsection.’
Amend the resolution by striking out all of the question (page 1, lines 18 to 21 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

"Do you favor amending the Constitution of Maine to limit increases in total annual property tax assessed by a municipality to no more than the change for the year in a standard measure of consumer inflation?"
