Amend the resolve by inserting before section 1 the following:
‘Emergency preamble. Whereas, acts and resolves of the Legislature do not become effective until 90 days after adjournment unless enacted as emergencies; and
Whereas, it is necessary that this legislation be enacted for the upcoming season in order to avoid undue financial and administrative hardships for seasonal employees of the Baxter State Park Authority; and
Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and require the following legislation as immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, therefore, be it’
Amend the resolve in section 1 in the last line (page 1, line 12 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "subchapter 2-A." and inserting the following: 'subchapter 2-A; and be it further'
Amend the resolve by adding before the summary the following:
‘Sec.
2. Appropriations and allocations. Resolved: That the following appropriations and allocations are made.

Initiative: Provides an allocation for savings associated with paying out unused vacation to seasonal employees and foregoing hiring of the roving ranger position.
