Amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting the following:
‘An Act To Require State Employees To Pay 10% of Their Health Insurance Costs’
Amend the bill in section 1 in subsection 7 in the 5th and 6th lines (page 1, lines 8 and 9 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " effective July 1, 2010, 90% of the premium; and effective July 1, 2011, 85% of the premium" and inserting the following: ' and effective July 1, 2011, 90% of the premium'
Amend the bill by inserting after section 2 the following:
‘Sec. 3. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.

Initiative: Reduces funding from savings resulting from reducing the state share of the individual health insurance premium for state employees from 100% to 95% effective October 1, 2009 and to 90% effective July 1, 2011.

Sec. 4. Effective date. That section of this Act that amends the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, section 285, subsection 7 takes effect October 1, 2009.’

This amendment is the majority report of the committee. The amendment changes the effective date of the state share of the individual premium for state employees from July 1, 2010 to July 1, 2011 and eliminates the provision that reduced the state share to 85% effective July 1, 2011.
