Resolve, Regarding the Cost of Telephone Calls Made by Incarcerated Persons
Sec. 1. Long-distance telephone calls. Resolved: That the Commissioner of Corrections and the State Board of Corrections shall study the feasibility of making the cost of long-distance telephone calls made by inmates at jails, prisons and correctional facilities less expensive. In undertaking this study, the commissioner and board shall compare the cost of long-distance telephone calls made by jail, prison and correctional facility personnel to the cost of long-distance telephone calls made by inmates in an attempt to bring the cost of telephone calls made by the inmates in line with the cost of telephone calls made by personnel.
